An e-mail scam is currently doing the rounds, claiming to be from Patricia Hewitt and asking for your assistance in a "charitable" or profitable project."

If you receive a version of this email, (which usually begins "Dear Friend, I am Rt Hon Patricia Hewitt, MP. I actually got your contact via your country’s national directory") please ignore it as it is not from Patricia Hewitt or anyone connected to Patricia Hewitt.

Do not, under any circumstances, respond to the email with your bank details or other personal information. The Police are aware of this scam and it is currently under investigation.
